The lists come from Google’s Chrome UX Report (CrUX), which ranks websites by the real visits of Chrome users, from every source: search, direct, social networks. Google publishes no rank, only a tier (Top 1K, 5K, 10K, 50K, 100K, 500K, 1M): a move is therefore counted in tiers crossed, here between August 2026 and September 2026. http and https, www and the bare domain count as one website.
Entries into and exits from the Top 1M are listed separately: Google sometimes drops a website from a month’s release, as with canva.com in September 2026, and that is not a fall in audience. Numbered throwaway subdomains (“6543.example.com”) are left out.
The type of site comes from the Université Toulouse Capitole lists (adult, betting and casino, downloads) and, for the others, from a reading of the home page classified by an AI model: it can be wrong on an ambiguous site. The 3,000 strongest moves in each direction are classified.
